Add an order manually and confirm overwrite
What this article covers
This guide explains how to manually add delivery info to an order and safely confirm overwrite when data already exists.
Use this when:
an order was created outside normal flow
customer gave delivery details later
you need to fix missing schedule data quickly
Where to do this
Go to App -> Orders.
Click Add Order in the top-right area.
What you can enter
In the Add Order form, fill:
Order ID (required)
Order type (Shipping / Delivery / Store Pickup)
Delivery date (optional)
Time slot start/end (optional)
Then click Continue.
Confirmation step (important)
After Continue, the app checks whether this order already exists in the app database.
You will see one of two states:
New order: a new entry will be created
Existing order: current values are shown and your new values are shown side-by-side
If existing data is found, saving will overwrite old values.
Click:
Back to revise values, or
Confirm & Save to proceed
What happens after save
When you confirm:
Data is upserted (create or update)
Orders table refreshes with latest values
Sync job is queued to keep Shopify-side data aligned
So manual add works for both:
brand-new order IDs in app DB
existing order IDs that need updates
Best practices before overwrite
Double-check Order ID
Compare Current vs New values carefully
Confirm date/time with customer before saving
Keep internal notes if this was a manual correction
Common mistakes
Typing wrong order ID
Using wrong order type
Overwriting correct data by accident
Saving time without matching date context
Assuming there is an undo button
Quick troubleshooting checklist
If Add Order fails or seems incorrect:
Confirm Order ID is valid
Confirm you clicked Confirm & Save on step 2
Refresh Orders page after save
Search/filter to verify updated record
Retry if session expired or network request failed
In short
Add Order is a safe 2-step flow: Continue -> Confirm & Save
Existing order data is clearly shown before overwrite
You can use it to create missing records or correct existing schedules quickly
This is the fastest recovery path when delivery info is missing after checkout.
