Add custom message for each delivery method
What this article covers
This guide explains how to show a custom message for each delivery method:
Shipping
Local Delivery
Store Pickup
Use method-specific messages to give customers clear instructions during selection.
Why use custom messages?
A short message can reduce confusion and support questions.
Examples:
Pickup requires ID
Local delivery has area limits
Shipping has same-day cutoff
Show the right message only when that method is selected.
Where to configure
Go to App -> Settings -> Delivery Methods.
For each method card (Shipping, Local Delivery, Store Pickup):
Enable Show custom message
Enter your message text
Click Save
How it works for customers
When a customer selects a delivery method, Azent shows that method’s message under the widget.
Examples:
Customer chooses Store Pickup -> sees pickup instructions
Customer switches to Shipping -> sees shipping note instead
Only the active method’s message is shown.
Message examples (ready to use)
Shipping
"Orders after 5:00 PM are processed next business day."
Local Delivery
"Local delivery available within 10 km. Driver will call before arrival."
Store Pickup
"Please bring your order number and a valid ID for pickup."
Keep messages short and action-focused.
Best practices
Write one clear instruction per message
Keep it under 1 to 2 lines if possible
Avoid policy-heavy paragraphs
Match message content with actual operation rules
Common mistakes
Message enabled for wrong method
Message updated but not saved
Message too long and hard to read
Message conflicts with your actual cutoff/lead-time settings
Quick troubleshooting checklist
If message does not appear:
Confirm Show custom message is enabled for that method
Confirm message text is not empty
Confirm that method is currently selected by customer
Save settings and refresh cart/checkout
Check if theme CSS is hiding note area
In short
You can set different messages for Shipping, Local Delivery, and Store Pickup
Customers only see the message for the selected method
Short, clear instructions improve checkout clarity and reduce support requests
If needed, update messages seasonally (holiday schedules, weather delays, special pickup windows).
