Configure Shipping, Local Delivery, and Store Pickup

What this article covers

This guide explains how to configure delivery behavior for:

  • Shipping

  • Local Delivery

  • Store Pickup

You can control each method separately, so customers only see the options that match your operations.

Why configure methods separately?

Not every method needs the same flow.

Examples:

  • Shipping may need both date and time

  • Store Pickup may need date only

  • Local Delivery may need a custom note for customers

Method-level settings help keep checkout clear and accurate.

Where to configure

Go to App -> Settings -> Delivery Methods.

You will see 3 method cards:

  • Shipping

  • Local Delivery

  • Store Pickup

Each method has its own controls.

Available settings per method

For each method, you can set:

  1. Enabled
Turn the method ON/OFF in Azent widget logic.

  2. Allow date selection
Decide whether customers can choose a date for this method.

  3. Allow time slot selection
Decide whether customers can choose a time slot for this method.

  4. Show custom message (optional)
Display a method-specific message below the widget.

  5. Custom message text
Example: “Pickup only available after order confirmation call.”

Click Save after making changes.

Recommended starting setup

A common setup is:

  • Shipping: date ON, time ON

  • Local Delivery: date ON, time ON

  • Store Pickup: date ON, time OFF (if your pickup window is flexible)

Adjust based on your workflow and customer expectations.

How this affects customers

At checkout, Azent checks the selected delivery method and applies that method’s settings.

So if time selection is disabled for Store Pickup, customers will not see time slots when pickup is selected.

If a method is disabled, related scheduling options are hidden for that method.

Method-specific custom messages

Use custom messages for important notes, such as:

  • Pickup instructions

  • Delivery limitations

  • Cutoff or confirmation policies

Tips:

  • Keep message short and clear

  • Avoid long policy text

  • Use one key instruction per method

Common mistakes

  • Disabling a method unintentionally

  • Turning off both date and time for a method (no scheduling fields shown)

  • Forgetting to save after changing settings

  • Adding long custom messages that confuse customers

Quick troubleshooting checklist

If settings do not behave as expected:

  1. Check method is enabled

  2. Check date/time toggles for that method

  3. Check selected shipping method at checkout matches your intended method

  4. Check custom message toggle is ON

  5. Refresh checkout/cart and test again

In short

  • Configure Shipping, Local Delivery, and Store Pickup independently

  • Use method-specific date/time rules to match real operations

  • Add short custom messages when customers need extra guidance

This keeps checkout cleaner and reduces delivery-related confusion.
